If you have a sports injury your doctor suspects you’ve got a sprain or strain, they will suggest you follow the RICE methodology. Follow the recommendations and keep an eye fixed on your symptoms. If your sports injury gets worsen, that can mean you’ve got a lot of serious sport injuries and you should:
- Call your doctor if there are signs of swelling or if it hurts to put weight on the affected area. If the problem is within the location of a previous injury, look for medical attention directly.
- Contact a health care provider if you don’t observe any improvement after 24 to 36 hours of RICE.
