Foods that are rich in calcium, vitamin D, and other nutrients helps to make your bone stronger along with your overall health. But its less discussed which foods are avoidable to prevent a bone from any harm.

 

Overly salted food to high sugar beverages can inhibit a body from absorbing calcium. 

Beware of a few foods that harm your bones:

 

  • High sodium:

 

The high amount of sodium is known to cause calcium elimination through the kidney. That leads to a decrease in bone density. In a day, 2,300 milligrams of sodium consumption is enough for a normal person, as less sodium intake can cause cells to malfunction.

 

 

  • Sugar:

 

It causes calcium filtered from the bone and removes the body’s stores of magnesium. Sugar weakens your bones and increases the risk of fracture and thinner bone. Also, an overdose of sugar harms your entire body and affects cell functionality.

 

 

  • Soda:

 

An access amount of soda effect negatively on bone health by reducing bone mineral density and increasing the risk of fracture. It has also been observed that high soda drinkers have a high rate of broken bones and fractures than non-soda drinkers.

 

  • Caffeine:

 

Caffeine consumption contributed to low-bone density, and when it gets combined with sugar it may cause serious bone damage, as it reduces bone mass and increases fracture risk, which can lead to osteoporosis.

 

  • Alcohol:

 

A high rate of alcohol consumption contributes to low bone mass, decreased bone formation, an increased percentage of fractures, and delayed fracture healing. Alcohol consumption has direct and indirect effects on bone and effect on body mass index (BMI).

 

 

  • Inflammatory Foods:

 

Tomatoes, mushrooms, potato, eggplant, and few inflammatory Foods harm your bone. However, these foods are rich in vitamins and minerals, and should not be avoided. Artificial trans fats, Vegetable and seed oils, Refined carbohydrates, Processed meat can harm your bone.
